Okay, hands up, how many parents out there love watching kid’s movies? I am the first to admit that I just love having an excuse to watch some of the classic movies I used to watch as a kid with my own children. I am always first in line to see remakes and sequels that feature the same characters that I grew up with. And the new Muppets movie, Muppets Most Wanted is no exception! I used to love watching the Muppets gang as a kid (especially Animal – loved loved loved him!!) and Muppets Most Wanted features some of the classic favourites (Kermit and Miss Piggy) as well as some new colourful characters (Walter and Constantine). In cinemas just in time for school holidays (10 April 2014) and sure to keep both you and the kids entertained, we highly recommend a day out to see Muppets Most Wanted.
So take a trip down memory lane with The Muppets: Most Wanted. And take our five minute quiz (below) to determine which Muppets Character Are You? Share your results with us and your kids!
Muppets Most Wanted: What’s it all About?
Muppets Most Wanted is the sequel to the 2011 The Muppets and features the same loveable Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, Animal, Walter and they rest as they embark on a world tour. However, their plans go astray when the evil Constantine, a Russian criminal, steals Kermit’s identity, landing him on centre stage performing with the Muppets and landing Kermit in prison. Constantine juggles pretending to be Kermit and continuing his crime spree all the while Kermit attempts to break out of prison numerous times with hilarious results. As the plot thickens, the laughs continue and all parents will be able to relate to the disorganisation, the chaos and the confusion that ensues. After all, isn’t this what every day is like as a mum?
Why We Love It!
The nostalgia is definitely one of the things I loved most about Muppets Most Wanted, especially as I watched my four year old crack up anytime Animal opened his mouth. Miss Piggy is still over-the-top in terms of diva and drama (and A LOT more relatable than she was when I was a kid!). If it’s possible she is actually feistier and funnier than what I remember! And I’ll be the first to admit that Miss Piggy was my Muppet Doppelganger in the quiz, which my kids found even more hilarious as we watched. In fact, when Miss Piggy first appeared on screen, my son promptly yelled out, “Mummy, that’s you!” Thanks son. Thanks.
Both of my kids are still requesting that we watch the trailer over and over again (see below), especially the scene with Kermit dancing on Ricky’s head. And the human cast, featuring the always hilarious Ty Burrell, Tina Fey and Ricky Gervais, definitely add an element of ‘adult humour’ to the plot. There are also plenty of additional cameos to watch out for, but I won’t spoil it for you.
So… Which Muppets Character Are You?
