PARENTING BABIES PREGNANCY

5 Mum-to-Be Must Have Products To Take Out the Guesswork

4 min read

Forget what the baby books tell you.

No amount of info you read in a book is going to prepare you for all the weird and wonderful shit this new parenting gig is about to throw at you.

While a lot of the advice you will receive will be about what type of pram or carseat to get, all stuff for the baby, no one tells which are the best maternity pads. Or breast pads. Or nipple cream.

When you are leaking out of places you didn’t even know you could leak from, you’ll thank your lucky stars for these hot tips.

Take it from all our Stay At Home Mum ‘been there, done that’ mums. We surveyed our lovely ladies and want to give our new-mum-to-be friends a heads up. You know, luck favours the prepared, don’t get caught out with soggy baps. #Awkward

Take from mums who know…

Here’s our 5 mum-to-be must have products!

1. Lansinoh Nipple Cream

Lansinoh HPA® Lanolin is the safest, purest nipple cream and completely hypoallergenic. It has been specially developed to help soothe and protect sore, cracked nipples in breastfeeding mothers.
  • No need to remove before breastfeeding.
  • Paraben free.
  • 100% natural.
  • No additives, preservatives or chemicals.
  • No taste, colour or smell – the most acceptable nipple cream for your breastfed baby.

Soften a pea-sized amount between fingers and apply to the entire nipple after feeding or other problem area(s) as needed. Re-apply as often as necessary.

Tip: Other mums have also used it for nappy rash, itchy stretch marks, minor cuts, burns and abrasions, dry skin patches and as a naturally moisturising lip balm.

2. Rite Aid Hydrogel Breast Discs

Rite Aid Hydrogel Breast Discs provide cooling, soothing relief to cracked and sore nipples, allowing you to continue breastfeeding. Safe and non toxic for you and your baby, the discs keep the nipple area dry and restores your skin’s natural moisture.

  • Soothes cracked and sore nipples
  • Cools irritated skin
  • Creates the optimal environment for healing broken skin
  • Restores the skin’s natural moisture
  • Individually sealed for added hygiene

Tip: You can pop these in the fridge for extra cooling effects!

3. Rite Aid Nursing Pads

Rite aid nursing pads have a unique moisture-proof system to provide comfort and protection in between breastfeeding. Soft and discreet, yet super absorbent, the pads are also individually wrapped for hygiene and convenience.

Tip: These ones are plastic backed for added protection and they have a little sticky spot to stop them from slipping around in your bra. They are also they only ones large enough to cover the Rite Aid Hydrogel Breast Discs too. They say the gel discs are absorbent, but I always double bagged it, if you know what I mean, wink!
