Fed-up Mum Tells Kids Santa Will Cancel Christmas If They Don’t BehaveBut Others Say It's Bad Parenting, What Do You Think?

A fed-up mum has made a drastic move to make her misbehaving children believe that Santa would cancel Christmas if they don’t change.

The mother, from Queensland, has wrapped the Christmas tree in industrial strength cling wrap with a note warning that the kids had just one week to behave.

In the note, signed by Elise, claiming to be one of Santa’s elves, the children are being told that her boss did not like their attitude.

“If you want me to keep visiting, a Santa visit, your tree and presents back your behaviour needs to improve,” the note read. “Santa is very angry and I’m disappointed. Be good and say sorry to mum. You all have 1 week to improve. I’m watching.”

The mother then took a snap of it and posted it on social media, which divided parents’ views, with some parents praising the mum.

“As a mother of 5, foster Mum of 2, Granny of 13 and a great grandmother I say well done. Its great to see a parent in control,” a mum wrote. Another said: “Teaches values to greedy middle class kids. I knew a person who spent $30,000 on Xmas – please!”

However, there are those who thought it was bad parenting.

“Consequences should always be directly related and immediate. Also it’s so vague – what behaviour needs changing? How are you helping your children improve their behaviour?” one wrote. “Be clear (and realistic) in your expectations and don’t forget to model the behaviour you want to see.”

Another one said: “Stop lying to your kids with fairytales. Give them a spanking if they’re being disobedient then enjoy Christmas.”

So, do you think this mum did the right thing? Or was it really bad parenting?
