Human being are surprisingly predictable when you break us down to our bare minimums. We love, we hate, we eat, we sleep, and we look for experiences to excite and amaze us.

It’s that thrill-seeking nature that makes us so different from other species. It’s what makes us want to drive fast down empty roads, jump from into the water from heights and challenge our bodies and our minds to reach new levels of excitement.

Still, there’s got to be an upper limit on that thrill-seeking right? A point at which people say: “well that’s just crazy.”

There’s a place on the island nation of Palau called Ongeim’l Tketau, or “Jellyfish Lake” where you can literally swim with millions of jellyfish. There are two types of jellyfish, and both these types have stinging cells, but they aren’t always enough to cause harm. Still, overcoming your fear to dive into the depths is painful enough!

If you’ve ever wished you could throw yourself off the side of an active volcano on a wooden sled, wish no more. The Cerro Negro, or Black Hill, just outside of Leon, Nicaragua is a 160-year-old active volcano with a very steep slope of small-sized rocks. Apparently, crazy people love to climb to the top, jump on a sled, and then ride the rocky way down. Good luck with that.

Few are more well known than the Stolen Chimney, located near Moab, Utah. The rock is known for its very unusual shape, which makes climbing physically and technically challenging. Apparently, if you manage to claw your way up to the top, the view is incredible!

5. Cross The Trift Suspension Bridge above the Trift Glacier

Measuring 170 metres long and soaring 100 metres above sea level, the Trift Suspension Bridge is one of the longest and highest pedestrian suspension bridges in the Alps. It was originally built in 2004, then replaced in 2009. Although the bridge actually serves as a way to access the Trift Hut of Switzerland’s national hiking club, it’s a tourist attraction for thrill-seekers in their own right.
