Finding a Better Mind Space

Finding a better mind space can be really hard especially when we are have those days where life gets the better of us. If you feel like you are losing control of your grip on the world, then these self-improvement tips can certainly help. Your mind, body and spirit work together and getting a firm control on all three will ensure harmony in your reality, even of those extra trying days.

Develop Patience

Patience is a hard attribute to develop if you are born impatient but this is one of those things that all parents need. You will need to be patient with your children on a regular basis and you can expect things to take a little longer than expected. However, develop tolerance in others around you as well. People make mistakes and life doesn’t always go to your set routine but this is okay. By developing patience and tolerance you will learn to find peace in society, even in those annoying people at the supermarket, the slow drivers on the road and the rude teenagers cutting in line at the shops.

Meditate

Not into meditation? Then how about simple deep breathing exercises? Take fifteen minutes a day and do some breathing exercises. Not only can this help during a stressful situation but it can also help with circulation and with troubles sleeping at night.Finding a Better Mind Space | Stay at Home Mum

Read and Write

If you have the time, then why not start a journal? Recording your thoughts can help you clear your mind and come up with the right solution for you. This is especially a vital tool when you are struggling with a change in life or with a difficult decision. Reading is another activity that can help you de stress and stimulates your brain. So the next time you are picking books up at the library for the kids, why not grab the latest best seller for yourself as well?

Find alone time

This can be a hard one for busy mums but taking a half hour a day to yourself is critical. Perhaps you can be in charge of walking the dog by yourself at night or wake up a half hour earlier than the kids and enjoy a cup of coffee on the porch in uninterrupted silence.  This alone time can make it a little easier to tackle the tasks ahead, whatever they are.

Forgive and Forget

Anger is a very negative feeling that can harbour deep inside you for years. However, learning how to forgive those that have wronged you in the past and walk away from these negative thoughts can free your mind. Self-improvement is all about looking forward. The past can be a great place to store memories but you shouldn’t harbour on the painful ones.

Accept the Things you Cannot Change

There are some things in life that you will never be able to control. The key is to be prepared for these things by developing acceptance and flexibility. There are some things that you simply cannot control that will happen on a regular basis, such as missing an appointment because the traffic was too bad. However, there are other larger scale unexpected downs, such as a serious illness, that can come your way. Rather than dwelling on the unfairness of these unexpected instances, accept them and find a way to move past or look for something positive from the experience. This can be difficult when faced with a serious illness, injury or financial emergency. Things happen but accepting that life is all about unexpected twists and turns can put you in a better mind frame to deal with whatever comes your way.

How do you find ways to cope with life’s overwhelming moments?
