10 Effective Home Remedies for Eczema

4 min read

Eczema can be a painful condition for adults and children.

This irritating skin disease can cause a number of awful symptoms including itchiness, rash and even oozing sores depending on the severity of the flare up. There are a number of things that can cause eczema but doctors agree that the most common reasons are allergies. If your child, or you, are suffering from eczema, it is most likely due to an allergy to food, to something in the air, to a cream or to a medication.

Eczema 1

One of the ways to naturally treat eczema is through the elimination method.

1. Get rid of the chemicals.

Try switching to organic and unprocessed foods. Chemically sprayed fruits and veggies may be the cause of the eczema. Junk foods, sugars and artificial and processed foods may be to blame. Instead, add plenty of omega-3 foods into your diet, such as avocados and salmon.

2. Try a dairy-free diet.

If you are breastfeeding and notice that your child is facing eczema, it could be due to dairy intolerance, one of the most common reasons for any skin irritations in babies. Try to eliminate dairy from your diet for a month and see if this helps.

3. Consider your washing.

What type of laundry detergent, soap, shampoo and cleaning products are you using? Make the switch to natural options and see if this makes the difference.
