According to health experts, each person should take 10,000 steps a day for a healthy, active lifestyle.

But to be honest, the couch looks more inviting and we need a bigger reason to move backsides. So, how do you start?

First off, wake up and get moving! It’s never really about how early you sleep. It’s your will to wake up, stand up and get moving! Next, do this repeatedly everyday and then do this for weeks. Get friends to do it with you to!

You don’t have to run a marathon – you can do any kind of activity! Walk, jog, cycle, play basketball, box or even do some house chores!

If you want to make every step count, check out Steptember! It’s a game-changer!

About Steptember

Steptember is a health and wellness campaign that runs in 6 countries all over the world. It encourages people to take 10,000 steps a day for the month of September and each step helps the Cerebral Palsy Alliance raise funds for people with Cerebral Palsy. The funds raised  from Steptember will be used to provide facilities and services for people with Cerebral Palsy and as well as for research.

Taking part of Steptember is easy! You only need 3 other people – family, friends or co-workers – to join you in your fitness journey!

The team will track their steps online using the pedometer provided. Find out more about the Steptember challenge here!

Taking 10,000 steps might not easy – but if it’s for a worthy cause, you know each step you take counts!

About Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral Palsy is an umbrella term for a group of disorders caused by injury to the brain which occurs most commonly during pregnancy. It is a permanent, lifelong condition with no known cure. It’s one of the most common physical disabilities in children with one affected child being born every 15 hours here in Australia. For more information of Cerebral Palsy please visit www.cerebralpalsy.org.au

To register your company’s support, and for more details on this worthy cause, visit www.steptember.org.au.

Your Steptember kit, consisting of a pedometer, lanyard and booklet, will be delivered right to your doorstep.

Every dollar you, or your company raises, will provide vital equipment, therapy and services to children and adults living with Cerebral Palsy. Or, you can choose to raise funds for ground-breaking research into the prevention and maybe even one day a cure.
