12-Year-Old Boy Denies Raping a Six-Year-Old Girl and Gets Bail for a Family Holiday

A 12-year-old boy has denied raping a six-year-old girl at their Sydney northern beaches primary school and gets bail so he can go on a family holiday.

The boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, appeared at Hornsby Children’s Court with his parents, aunt and barrister.

He and another 12-year-old boy, who was also charged, were accused of sexually and indecently assaulting a girl at their school during school hours.

Court documents alleged that the boy, along with another 12-year-old boy, first attacked the girl between 8:00am and 4:00pm, sometime in the last week of June.

Six weeks later, on August 16, he allegedly attacked and raped the girl again, this time, on his own.

The two 12-year-olds were arrested and charged on August 30.

On behalf of the boy, his lawyer James Viney entered not guilty pleas to the charges of three counts of aggravated indecent assault in company, two counts of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10 and one count of indecent assault.

He was allowed bail, but a slight variation was made to allow him to go to Queensland for a week on a holiday with his parents.

The boy will have his case mentioned again on November 24.

The other boy will face Hornsby Local Court next month on similar charges.
