A pregnant woman has given birth in hospital after getting involved in a vehicle collision in Melbourne yesterday.

The 24-year-old woman was immediately rushed to hospital after the car she was in collided with a truck at the intersection of Princes Highway and Princes Domain Drive at 2.55pm yesterday.

Her baby was delivered via emergency caesarean section after suffering non-life threatening injuries, while she suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, but is now in a stable condition.

The driver of the car, a 52-year-old Hallam woman, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the 50-year-old truck driver was not injured in the collision.

Meanwhile, two passengers — a woman and a man — also got involved in another car crash yesterday afternoon along Princes Highway in regional Victoria. The woman died in hospital while the man is fighting for his life.

The drivers of the two cars were also taken to hospital, one in a serious condition.
