Baby Dropped From London’s Grenfell Tower During Fire Saved By Stranger

A baby was saved after being caught by a stranger when the baby was dropped from the 10th floor of the burning Grenfell Tower in London.

Amidst the burning inferno came a miracle that brought people together to help save a life.

Samira Lamrani, who lives in a building adjacent to the west London flats, has told news.com.au that she saw a woman drop the baby from a window and was saved by a stranger.

She said that as the building burnt, the woman leaned out the window and dropped the baby.

“I can say with 110 per cent certainty that I saw a baby being thrown out the window from about the ninth floor at least. It just fell straight down and a man came forward to catch it. People were cheering and screaming at the same time,” she said.

Speaking to the Huffington Post, Ms Lamrani also said that the woman wrapped her baby in ‘what seemed like a sheet or blanket’ before throwing the baby out of the window.

“A member of the public, a guy ran forward and just miraculously grabbed the baby at the right moment and then the shadow, I assume the mother, went backwards and that was the last we saw,” she added.

Ms Lamrani was speaking from the scene, shortly after London police confirmed a “number of fatalities” from the fire that started shortly after 1am local time and engulfed the 27-storey residential tower.

She said it was not clear what happened to the baby or her mother after that.

Now, media outlets are pleading for the hero to come forward.

So far, the official death toll for the fire is at 12, while 68 others 18 critical are being treated in hospital.
