Chilling Footage Emerges of A Man Armed With Knives Breaking Through Ex-Partner’s Home

This is the chilling moment a man armed with knives and high on ice rampages through his ex-partner’s home while she stays in the bedroom with her children.

Mum, Sonia Gates told A Current Affair of the horror she and her three children went through during the 2015 incident.

7News reported that Ms Gates’ ex-husband Daniel Frewin broke open a security screen at the Banora Point home in New South Wales and began destroying the property, throwing chairs and attempting to kick down the bedroom door where Ms Gates was hiding.

In a video, Mr Frewin can be seen shirtless with a large kitchen knife in each hand, pacing through the property he has destroyed. At some points in the footage, he can be seen standing eerily still in the centre of the room and lighting up a cigarette before he is apprehended by police.

In a distressing emergency call recording, the terrified mum-of-three can be heard telling the 000 operator that Mr Frewin was destroying the house. “He’s coming in, he’s hitting the wall,” she whispers before a loud banging that can be heard on the call and the children start screaming and crying as Mr Frewin tries to break down the door. “He’s got a knife,” Ms Gates tells the operator.

Ms Gates left Mr Frewin after years of violence and controlling behaviour and took out Apprehended Violence Orders (AVO’s). However, that didn’t stop him from breaking into her home.

Now, Ms Gates believes that the terrifying video from that night helped her case against Mr Frewin. “Without that, he would be out and I would be dead,” she said. She has also set up more security cameras and more exits from her home.

Mr Frewin has been jailed for three years without parole.
