Dad Slammed For Letting His Five-Year-Old Son Do Burnouts in His Car

Child protection services are now investigating a father who filmed his five-year-old son doing burnouts in his car.

Alex Dobson has shared a video of his son, Riley burning rubber in his driveway at their Queensland home earlier this week.

The video has gone viral as it has been viewed more than four million times, but it’s not something that Mr Dobson should be happy about as this caught the attention of the Queensland Police and child protection officers, who have now seized the family car pending further investigations into Mr Dobson’s questionable parenting.

In the footage, Riley can be seen doing burnouts behind the wheel of his dad’s sports car as smoke billows out of the vehicle.

In an interview with Australia’s Nine News, Mr Dobson, however, revealed he is beginning to regret his decision to share the video online. “I am beginning to, only because of how far it’s gone and the consequences,” he said, although he believes that he had not put his son’s life at risk. “Definitely not, no way would I ever put my child’s life at risk,” he said.

Local police are now contemplating if they can press charges, since the incident took place on private property.

Meanwhile, despite amassing thousands of shares and reactions, Mr Dobson came under fire for his video, with people on social media saying: “It’s a very bad accident waiting to happen!” and “OMG this deadbeat should be reported to DHS. If this kid goes out without his irresponsible dad to try it again and takes off in the car he has no hope.”
