Mum of Boy Who Died at Inflatable World Attacked By Online Trolls

The grieving mother of the three-year-old boy who died at Inflatable World in Toowoomba has been mercilessly attacked by online trolls.

Hunter Young, from Upper Coomera, was found unresponsive at an inflatable playground in Toowoomba after collapsing at about 1pm on Sunday. He was found at the bottom of a slide.

Onlookers said the boy was convulsing and CPR was performed on him until paramedics arrived and was taken to Toowoomba Base Hospital with serious head injuries before being flown to Lady Cilento Hospital in Brisbane, where his parents decided to turn off his life support on Monday.

It is understood the child was at the centre with his mother and a grandparent.

In its post on Facebook, Inflatable World offered its condolences to the family.

“We are devastated by the news that a child has passed away in hospital after collapsing at our venue on Sunday afternoon.

“Inflatable World notified Worksafe on Sunday and they began investigating.

“A full investigation involving all relevant authorities is underway, we have also undertaken our own internal investigation, are working with authorities and have passed on our findings.

“Inflatable World takes the health and safety of our patrons, staff and others very seriously while they are on our site and have taken extensive measures to ensure we have the highest standards for workplace safety.

“We offer our deepest condolences to the family.

However, some heartless trolls just won’t rest as they cruelly attacked the grieving family. One user wrote on Facebook: “If you can’t supervise a child correctly then maybe you shouldn’t have a child. I would never let this happen to my child. Another added: “I watch my kids all the time and that’s why this would never happen to me.”

Because of this, Inflatable World was forced to edit the post yesterday afternoon, adding:

“Please be respectful of your comments at this sad time”.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is investigating the accident and Detective Sergeant Brent Parker said police were looking into the circumstances surrounding the boy’s injuries.

Police have also called for witnesses to the accident to come forward.
