How do you teach your children not to use gender stereotypes? Bake them a cake of a Hulk figurine wearing a purple frosting dress, of course!

Canadian parents, Lainie and Brian Elton stole the internet’s heart this week with a photo of their twin daughters’ fourth birthday cake, which has now received over one million views around the world.

According to News.com.au, Ms Elton spent six hours over several days creating the incredible hulk cake at their daughters’ gender bending request.

“My twin daughters asked for a Hulk Princess Cake for their birthday and my wife made it happen,” Ms Elton wrote on the photo.

Her husband shared the sensational photo of the cake on Reddit three days ago, which has since been tagged as ‘the most awesome image on the internet’.

“What I think is really awesome is just the conversation that it has sparked with gender stereotyping with kids,” Ms Elton, from Toronto, told ABC News.

“I think it’s great that I can contribute to that conversation. I am fully supportive of kids wearing and playing with whatever they’re interested in. If my daughter wants to wear blue shoes and play with action figures, I’m all for it.”

The couple was inundated with positive comments about the dessert on social media.

“HULK SMASH TRADITIONAL GENDER ROLES!” one user wrote.

“Parenting done right,” another posted.
