Celebrity weddings are always a pleasure to read about. Not only is it entirely entertaining watching them blow up their money on a wedding gown, you can indulge on some celeb gossip as well.

If you feel like indulging in some celeb gossip, as well as some glamour and everything fancy, let’s have a peek into their big days!

Donald & Melania Trump

  • Date: January 22, 2005
  • Status: Still Together

Donald met Melania at a New York Fashion Week party in 1998. That time, when he approached her and asked for her number, she didn’t give it but asked for his number instead (so she’ll be the one to contact him). She wasn’t interested, and considering the behaviour she’s having when she’s with him right now, it seems like she still isn’t.

There were videos all around the internet that show how Melania doesn’t want to hold hands with Donald, as well as rumours that say they sleep in separate bedrooms. There were also allegations that Donald is a womanizer and that he’s sexually harassed a dozen women, which Melania said were all lies.

President Donald Trump and Melania’s relationship is indeed controversial internationally.

Barrack & Michelle Obama

  • Date: October 3, 1992
  • Status: Still Together

In 1989, while working in a law firm, Michelle Robinson became an advisor to a summer associate from Harvard Law. Barack Obama was also working at the said law firm at that time. Barack admitted not loving the corporate law world, but he found himself falling for Michelle. After their first date, they both knew that they both wanted each other.

After dating for three years, Michelle and Barack tied the knot. When asked about their vows, Michelle said, “Barack didn’t pledge riches, only a life that would be interesting. On that promise he delivered.”

Michelle wore a stunning off-the-shoulder duchess satin gown with a sweetheart neckline. Her dress featured floral appliqués, with a princess-length veil and opera gloves.

John & Jacqueline Kennedy

  • Date: September 12th, 1953

On one crisp sunny day at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Newport, Rhode Island, Jackie wore a traditional ivory silk gown with a bouffant skirt made by Ann Lowe, an African-American designer. The gown was crafted from roughly 50 feet of ivory silk taffeta. Her rose-point lace veil, on the other hand, was a family treasure, first worn by her grandmother on her wedding day. Jackie wasn’t a big fan of the dress.

She felt like it accentuated her flat chest and made her look like a ‘lampshade’. However, the gown drew praise from fashion commentators around the world.

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt

  • Date: August 23, 2014
  • Status: Divorced

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt met through their movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005. That time, Brad was married to Jennifer Aniston for five years, but they divorced eventually. Just a month after Jennifer and Brad’s divorce, he accompanied Angelina to Pakistan to do her duties as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador. And about a year after, their first baby was born. To date, they have 6 children, 3 of whom were adopted.

Their relationship, known as ‘Brangelina’, was admired by a lot of people, even people from different countries. They were together for 8 to 9 years before they decided to get married. But two years after their wedding, in 2016, Angelina filed for divorce. People were shocked and saddened by the split.

Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively

  • Date: September 9, 2012
  • Status: Still Together

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’s relationship is the kind of relationship most women desire. Their love for each other is very obvious. Well, because they’re vocal about it. And if you’re a fan of them and you’ve watched all of their speeches, you’ll know that!

Blake and Ryan met on the set of Green Lantern movie back in 2010. That time, Ryan was still married to Scarlet Johansson. But after 2 years of marriage, in the same year, he filed for divorce. Rumours about Blake and Ryan dating surfaced in the last months of 2011. From then, paparazzi began to spot them together many times. They got married in 2012. In 2014, she had her first baby.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly,

“It was funny because for about a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and all that stuff, we were both single,” Ryan said. “We went on a double date. She was on a date with another guy, and I was on a date with another girl. That was the most awkward date probably because we were just like fireworks coming across.”

Their love story is cute!

Gene Simmons & Sharon Tweed

  • Date: October 1, 2011
  • Status: Still Together

Gene Simmons and Sharon Tweed had been together for 28 years before they tied the knot. Guests who witnessed the event at Beverly Hills Hotel said it was indeed a wedding fit for a rock star!

Their daughter, 19, served as maid of honour and their son, Nick, 22, was one of the groomsmen. Even the family dog, Snippy, joined in the celebration – serving as the ring bearer.

Shannon revealed that her decision on what gown to wear was very last minute. But she picked out her wedding shoes 10 years before the big day.

After spotting the ivory Rene Caovilla heels in a boutique in Santa Monica, she said, “I am going to get married in those some day.”

Luckily, the shoes matched perfectly with the Priscilla of Boston gown. She later changed into a Badgley Mischka dress for the reception.

Besides the dress, another stunner at the wedding was the bride’s 27-carat Goel Talasazan engagement ring. But the groom’s wedding band, by the same jeweller, also held a special meaning to Tweed-Simmons.

“My father died when I was 24 so he couldn’t be at the wedding, so I melted some of the gold from his wedding ring and put it in two strands representing our two kids,” she shares.

The couple had their rings engraved, with Simmons’s reading, “My Love Now and Forever,” and his bride’s inscribed with the words, “You are my first love and you will be my last love.”

Though Simmons originally resisted the idea of marriage – causing problems in the couple’s relationship as documented on their A&E reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels (the new season kicked off Tuesday) – he says he has now definitely changed his tune.

“I look at my wedding band now,” he shares, “and think, ‘What was I afraid of all this time?'”

Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka

  • Date: September 5, 2014
  • Status: Still Together

Yep, Neil Patrick Harris is a married man.

The famous How I Met Your Mother star got married to David Burtka in an intimate ceremony in Italy wearing a custom Tom Ford tuxedo.

The couple announced their engagement via Twitter in June 2011 after passage of the Marriage Equality Act in New York. Harris then revealed that they actually got engaged five years earlier, but decided to keep the news a secret.

“Guess what? @DavidBurtka and I got married over the weekend. In Italy. Yup, we put the ‘n’ and ‘d’ in ‘husband’,” the newlywed posted on Twitter.

Keira Knightley & James Righton

  • Date: May 4, 2013
  • Status: Still Together

Keira Knightley and James Righton got married in a low-key ceremony in the town hall of the hilltop village of Mazan in the south of France.

Dressed in an above-the-knee strapless tulle dress, cropped Chanel boucle jacket, ballet pumps, and daisies on her hair, Keira looked utterly carefree.

James opted for a navy blue suit and light blue tie. The couple both wore sunglasses.

It was truly a simple ceremony, with the 11 guests dressing casually in chinos and open shirts and trainers. That number already include Klaxon’s bandmates.

The couple were then driven back to the Knightley family farmhouse to continue the celebrations at a reception for 50 guests.

Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan

  • Date: July 11, 2009
  • Status: Divorced

*Wiping my tears because the following words will break my heart – and thousands of other hearts for sure.*

As much as I hate the Step Up movie for getting these love birds together, there’s no denying – Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan looked happy.

They had a fairytale wedding in Malibu, at a private estate overlooking the ocean. Both of them looked gorgeous (of course) – Tatum clad in Giorgio Armani and Jenna Dewan in a Reem Acra gown with a sweetheart neckline and feathered skirt. They exchanged vows and Neil Lane wedding bands under pepper trees filled with white and blush florals. Her hair was pulled back from her face, and she carried a bouquet of white and pink roses by Mark’s Garden.

The couple loved fairies, thus the fairytale-inspired wedding, and it included two flower girls who walked down the aisle wearing wings, a sit-down reception in a tent, decorated by Mark’s Garden with thousands of roses, hydrangeas and orchids in reds, fuchsia and blush. The wedding cake by Cake Divas was shaped as a magic castle filled with fairies in several flavours: red velvet, chocolate with chocolate fudge, and white with ‘funfetti’ frosting. To keep with the wedding theme, guests were given crystals as favours.

The couple honeymooned in Bali where they got matching tattoos.

Ellen DeGeneres & Portia DeRossi

  • Date: August 16, 2008
  • Status: Still Together

It was an evening full of love and laughter for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, who exchanged personal wedding vows in front of their closest family and friends at their home in L.A.

Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick

  • Date: May 19, 1997
  • Status: Still Together

Living up to expectations, Sarah Jessica Parker broke tradition when she married Matthew Broderick (wearing a suit straight off the rack) in a taffeta black dress.

The couple didn’t want the press to find out it was a wedding, and she didn’t want them to catch her buying a white dress, so they invited their guests to a ‘party’ at NYC who were surprised to find out that it was a wedding ceremony.

Sarah now has regrets about not wearing white. In 2009, she told Harper’s Bazaar that if she and Matthew ever renewed their vows, she plans to “white it up….. I’d wear a beautiful, proper, wedding dress like I should have worn that day”.

Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson

  • Date: April 30, 1988
  • Status: Still Together

27 years after and Tom Hanks said that the only thing they both argue about is who loves each other more. Tom Hanks was married to his college sweetheart, the late Samantha Lewes, when he met Rita.

He wasn’t proud of this, but his chemistry with Rita was just too strong to ignore.

“Rita and I just looked at each other and “” kaboing “” that was that. I asked Rita if it was the real thing for her, and it just couldn’t be denied.” Tom and Samantha divorced in 1987, and a year later he married Rita.

Rita Wilson was one to jump on the double wedding dress bandwagon by wearing two dresses on her wedding. The first was an off-shoulder A-line gown and then she changed into a sexy shorter dress as they leave. Perhaps to glide more comfortably as they waved to the paparazzi?

Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton

  • Date: March 1964 – 1974, 1975 – 1976
  • Status: Divorced

Their love story had the makings of a Hollywood movie. Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were married and divorced twice, and their union was probably the most notorious and dramatic of the 20th century.

Elizabeth wore a cheerful yellow chiffon dress and a very petite bouquet of yellow freesia during her first wedding in 1964.

Their turbulent relationship kept them in the papers, and they divorced in 1974 and remarried in 1975, only to split again a year later. Guess they couldn’t make up their minds!

Frank Sinatra & Ava Gardner

  • Date: November 7, 1951
  • Status: Divorced

Can anyone ever forget the 1951 love affair aka ‘match made in gossip-column heaven’ between the crooner and the actress?

Rumours tell that Gardner seduced Sinatra while he’s still married to his first wife, Nancy Barbato, and the press branded her as a scandalous homewrecker.

Days after Frank and Nancy’s divorce came, Frank and Ava got married at a friend’s home in Philadelphia.

The two got married at a time when the actress’s career was in full take off, while Sinatra’s was dry as a desert. This bruised his ego, so Frank Sinatra would often provoke fights. He was jealous of her leading men. She flipped if she saw him flirt. In short, it was again a happy year for the press.

Ava Gardner wed Frank Sinatra in a halter neck wedding dress with a sheer shawl.

Elizabeth Taylor & Conrad Hilton

  • Date: May 6, 1950 – January 29, 1951
  • Status: Divorced

Another match made in Hollywood heaven that didn’t last. It kept the tabloids happy though!

Movie star Elizabeth Taylor and hotel magnate Conrad ‘Nicky’ Hilton tied the knot on May 6, 1950 in a lavish ceremony that was the first, and perhaps the most traditional, of the starlet’s eight weddings to seven husbands (she married Richard Burton twice).

Taylor was only 18 when she said ‘I do’ to 24-year-old Hilton, but after only 205 days of marriage – three months of which were spent cruising Europe on their honeymoon – it was obvious that their union lacked wedded bliss. In the divorce proceedings, Taylor charged Hilton with ‘extreme mental cruelty’, telling the court that he had been ‘indifferent to me and used abusive language’. While Taylor later admitted to LIFE magazine that her vision of marriage back then was ‘very naive’, she refused Hilton’s alimony and instead quickly moved on, putting her shortest marriage behind her.

The simple, but elegant garment created by Hollywood costume designer Helen Rose for the then 18-year-old Taylor is an oyster shell-coloured, floor-length satin gown with a fine silk gauze off-the-shoulder illusion neckline. Oh, classy! The dress, which was a gift from MGM film studios, has a top estimate of 50,000 pounds ($75,300) and now was auctioned May 28, 2013.

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle

  • Date: May 19, 2018
  • Status: Still Together

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s love story began due to a blind date set by their mutual friend. Some say it was Violet von Westenholz, others say it was Mischa Nonoo. Regardless, having no deep knowledge about the royal family, Meghan’s first question to the friend was, ‘Is he nice?’ Because she believed that if he isn’t, the blind date would make no sense at all.

Fast forward. After their first meeting, they both had the urge to meet each other again. They decided to meet again the day after, then the rest is history.

Prince William & Kate Middleton

  • Date: April 29, 2011
  • Status: Still Together

Kate Middleton caught Prince Harry’s attention during a university fashion show when they were both still studying at St. Andrews University. They were friends even before but that day, seeing Kate being confident on the catwalk, he felt something else. He even whispered to his friend that she’s hot. Their relationship was confirmed in 2014 when they were spotted skiing together.

In 2005, they graduated from college and pursued different paths. It had been difficult for them, especially with the presence of intense media attention, so they split up in 2007. But later that year, they became together again.

Their royal wedding occurred in 2011. And as of now, they have 3 children.

Prince Charles & Lady Diana

  • Date: July 29, 1981
  • Status: Divorced

Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer were married at St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, England. As you could expect, royal families from all over the world, state heads and notable figures graced the event, and time stopped as the public’s eyes were glued to the fairytale wedding. It was watched by an estimated global TV audience of 750 million.

Lady Diana arrived at the cathedral with her father, John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer in a Glass Coach and was escorted by six mounted Metropolitan Police Officers.

The bride’s dress was made of ivory silk taffeta decorated with lace, hand embroidery, some sequins and exactly 10,000 pearls. The train measured up to 25 feet made of ivory taffeta and antique lace. It was designed by Elizabeth and David Emanuel and valued at £9000 (£30,809 as of 2015). She also wore the Spencer family’s heirloom tiara.

Charles wore his full dress naval commander uniform.

During the exchange of vows, the couple made errors as Diana changed the order of Charles’s name to ‘Philip Charles Arthur George’ instead of the correct ‘Charles Philip Arthur George’. Charles also said he would offer her ‘thy goods’ instead of ‘my worldly goods’. Diana missed saying the promise to obey him as part of the traditional vows.

The couple and 120 guests went to Buckingham Palace for a wedding breakfast after the ceremony. Diana and Charles made a traditional appearance on a balcony of Buckingham Palace at exactly 13:10 BST, and delighted the crowd when they kissed.

The couple had 27 wedding cakes.

After 11 years, the couple separated and they divorced in 1996.

Grace Kelly & Prince Rainier III

Date: April 18, 1956 – September 14, 1982

The Hollywood beauty met Rainier during the Cannes Film Festival and eight months later, the couple were engaged. The lovebirds tied the knot on 19 April, 1956, in Monte Carlo, in a church ceremony and a civil ceremony the day before, as was customary in Monaco.

Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III knelt and exchanged rings during their wedding at Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Monaco.

The bride’s wedding gown was a gift from the MGM film studios and featured a high collar, long sleeves, a fitted bodice and voluminous skirt, and was made of silk taffeta, tulle and 125-year-old Brussels rose point lace.

Hollywood star Grace Kelly arrived at Saint Nicholas Cathedral for her wedding to Prince Rainier III in 1956, and was accompanied by her six bridesmaids in yellow silk organdie dresses. Among them was her sister Peggy, who acted as matron of honour.

The newlyweds Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier walked down the steps of Saint Nicholas Cathedral, flanked by a military guard, after their wedding. She was thereafter known as Princess Grace.

The royal newlyweds were driven through the streets of Monte Carlo in an open-top Rolls Royce convertible car following their wedding and waved to the thousands of well-wishers around them.

Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace enjoyed their wedding luncheon at the Palace’s Court of Honour attended by 700 guests, and later cut their six-tier wedding cake using the prince’s sword!

Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten & Queen Elizabeth II

  • Date: November 20, 1947
  • Status: Widowed

Princess Elizabeth and Philip were married at Westminster Abbey.

The wedding ceremony was officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Geoffrey Fisher, and the Archbishop of York, Cyril Garbett. The wedding was recorded and aired by BBC Radio to 200 million people all over the world. Elizabeth and Philip proceeded to Buckingham Palace, where a breakfast was held at the Ball Supper Room. The couple received over 2,500 wedding presents from around the world and around 10,000 telegrams of congratulations!

On the morning of her wedding, as Princess Elizabeth was getting dressed and preparing, her tiara snapped and was fixed just in time.

The bride’s gown material was purchased using ration coupons and was designed by Norman Hartnell. Embroidered with soft, floating fabrics, particularly tulle and chiffon, and with plain, lustrous silks, the dress was made of soft white satin, with a high neckline, tailored bodice and a short train. The dress, without straps and with long sleeves, provided a fit and flare silhouette. Princess Elizabeth did her own make-up.

Upon their marriage, Elizabeth took the title of her husband and became Princess Elizabeth, Duchess of Edinburgh. They departed for their honeymoon in Broadlands in Hampshire, home of Philip’s uncle, Earl Mountbatten.

Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth

  • Date: December 23, 2018
  • Status: Divorced

The relationship of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth began in 2008 to 2009, when they were in the midst of shooting for the movie adaptation of The Last Song, a book by Nicholas Sparks. About 3 years of dating, in 2012, they got engaged. Miley was 19 then and Liam was 22. However, in 2013, rumours about their break-up spread alongside the release of Miley’s album, Bangerz. A few months after, the rumours were confirmed to be true.

She dated Patrick Schwarzenneger eventually, but it didn’t last. She also faced sexuality issues and was rumoured to be dating Stella Maxwell in 2015. There were a lot of issues where Miley got involved during those times, and it’s very evident on the changes on her image, her songs, and so on.

Nick Jonas & Priyanka Chopra

  • Date: December 1, 2018
  • Status: Still Together

When they met in the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, Nick knelt in front of her and said, ‘Where have you been all my life?’ But before Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra even met in person, they were already sending DMs and text messages to one another. His admiration towards Priyanka was very obvious. He asked her for a drink, and she said okay. And from that day, they were spotted together a lot of times.

In 2018, Priyanka was spotted wearing an engagement ring. A rumour about them being engaged began to spread, and it was then confirmed a few months later through an Instagram photo. They got married in December of 2018.

Justin Bieber & Hailey Baldwin

  • Date: September 13, 2018
  • Status: Still Together

Perhaps this has been one of the most controversial weddings for the fans of Justin and Selena relationship.

Hailey Baldwin first met Justin Bieber in 2009 when her father, Steve Baldwin, introduced her to him backstage on The Today Show. Hailey had been rumoured to be dating Justin a lot of times but she kept on denying it until 2016, when they confirmed their ‘low-key’ relationship. However, 6 months after, they broke up.

In 2018, the were together again. And in the same year, they announced their engagement through Instagram. About 2 months after, they got married.

Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel

  • Date: October 19, 2012
  • Status: Still Together

Hollywood sweethearts Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel tied the knot in an intimate Italian wedding at Puglia in a resort named Borgo Egnazia. The bride wore a gorgeous custom petal pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown.

Justin serenaded Jessica as she walked down the aisle. The song he sang was especially written for her. Awwwww!

Marilyn Manson & Dita VonTeese

  • Date: November 28, 2005
  • Status: Divorced

Burlesque Queen Dita Von Teese married shock rocker Marilyn Manson on December 3, 2005 in a purple silk taffeta Vivienne Westwood gown, Christian Louboutin shoes, and a tri-corn hat by Stephen Jones.

After a five-year romance and one year of marriage, she filed for divorce in December 2006.

Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey

  • Date: October 26, 2002
  • Status: Divorced

Yet another fairytale wedding. Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey got married at the Riverbend Church in Austin, Texas with over 350 guests, including Jessica’s sister, Ashlee and Nick’s 98 Degrees band members, Drew Lachey and Justin Jeffries.

Jessica wore a custom design Vera Wang strapless beaded gown and an 11-carat Harry Winston pave diamond headband attached to her veil. Her wedding bouquet, a stunning addition to her glamour appearance, consisted of 500 stephanotis flowers with an amazing scent adorned with pearls sewn into the middle. Nick wore a black Hugo Boss tux with a white silk tie. The couple looked fab and gorgeous together.

The church was surrounded with about ten thousand pale pink roses, a dream of Jessica Simpson since she was a little girl. You could say it was a romantic setting, especially with dazzling candles. The reception at the Barton Creek Resort and Spa was filled with roses as well.

The wedding cake was Victorian-inspired five-tier cake with hundreds of handmade edible flowers, layers of velvet cake and white butter cream icing.

Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale

  • Date: September 14, 2002
  • Status: Divorced

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale dated for six transcontinental-hopping years before Rossdale finally popped the question on New Year’s Day in 2002.

On September 14th of that same year, modern music’s most famous front-woman and her British beau exchanged vows during a traditional Anglican service at St. Paul’s Covent Garden in London. The bride arrived an hour late for the ceremony, but for the groom she was well worth the wait.

Gwen is now married to Blake Sheldon.

Kurt Cobain & Courtney Love

Date: February 24, 1992

Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love were married on a cliff overlooking Waikiki Beach on the island of O’aho in Hawaii with a perfect sunset background. Kurt wore his pyjamas with a woven Guatemalan purse while Courtney wore an old dress that once belonged to Seattle actress Frances Farmer. There were only eight people in attendance (no family members) as Kurt did not want a big ceremony. His best friend Krist Novoselic and his wife Shelli did not come to the ceremony because Krist thought Kurt was still using heroin heavily and he believed Courtney had a bad influence on him.

Dave Grohl did attend the wedding and even posed for an extremely awkward photo holding the bride’s hand. Sadly, the Cobain’s would only be married for a little over two years before Kurt died on April 8, 1994.

Ozzy & Sharon Osborne

  • Date: July 4, 1982
  • Status: Still Together

While the rest of America was marking Independence Day, for the talk show host and her rocker husband, July 4 is actually the date of their dependence day.

In the image below, the 61-year-old host stares up adoringly at her almost unrecognisable husband taken just after they said ‘I do’ in Maui, Hawaii in 1982.

While in Hawaii, Sharon did not dress for a beach wedding but instead donned a high neck traditional lace wedding dress.

Despite being called the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy, meanwhile, was dressed in an all-white suit, including a bow tie, and also wore a traditional Hawaiian lei around his neck.

While the now 65-year-old is known for his long black hair, for his wedding his hair was blond, long and full of volume.
