  • 2 cups Plain Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Bicarb Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups Pears cored, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup Pecans optional
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Caramel Pear Bread is just the recipe when you have a glut of over-ripe pears starting to rot in the fruit bowl… and it is just delicious!   It would be totally awesome still warm with butter on it… mmmmmm!

 

 

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, bicarb soda, salt, cinnamon and sugar.

  2. Add oil, eggs, pears, pecans (if using) and vanilla. Mix until just combined.

  3. Pour into a greased or lined loaf tin and bake at 165 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until inserted skewer comes out clean.
