  • 1 cup Pasata (tomato pasta sauce)
  • 1/2 cup Treacle
  • 1/3 Maple Syrup
  • 1/4 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 1/4 cup White Wine Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1/4 tsp Sweet Paprika

Homemade Barbeque Sauce. Why buy it when you can easily whip up some of your own? A quick and easy way to store it is in Ice Cube Trays, when you just need a small amount and it keeps for ages in the freezer.  A little bit of homemade sauce making goes a long way, and you’ll be wondering why you ever bothered with the shop stuff!

Method

  1. Combine the pasta, treacle, maple syrup, tomato sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and paprika in a medium saucepan.

  2. Bring to the boil over medium heat.

  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 12 minutes or until the sauce thickens.

  4. Taste and season with salt and pepper.

  5. Set aside for 20 minutes to cool slightly.

Recipe Hints and Tips:

  • Homemade Barbeque Sauce is suitable to freeze for up to six months.
