Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 tsp Gelatin
  • 1/4 cup Sugar,caster
  • 2 cups Milk Powder
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract


Method

  1. In a metal bowl, sprinkle gelatine over one tablespoon of water.
  2. Hold the bowl over a sink full of warm water and stir to dissolve the gelatine - then cool.
  3. Combine the milk powder, sugar, vanilla and two cups of water in a bowl.
  4. Beat until the milk powder has dissolved and add the gelatine mixture - again beat well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a lined tray and freeze until set.
  6. When it sets (approximately four hours) scoop mixture into a bowl and beat with electric beaters until doubled in bulk.
  7. Pour back into the tray and return to the freezer until firm (overnight).

Notes

Recipe Hints and Tips:

  • Low Calorie Vanilla Ice cream can be changed to a variety of flavours. For chocolate, simply add cocoa. For strawberry add pink food colouring and strawberry essence. You're only limited by your imagination!
