  • 3/4 cups Self Raising Flour
  • 3/4 cups Wholemeal Plain Flour (self raising)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 150 g Butter
  • 2/3 cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Lemons
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds

When life give you lemons, make some Old Fashioned Lemon Loaf. You will definitely love this deliciously tangy sweet bread at first bite!

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. With butter, grease a regular sized loaf tin.

  2. In a large bowl sieve the flours together and mix in the salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter and the sugar. Beat in the eggs, vanilla, and juice and zest of the two lemons

  4. Fold the flour into the wet mix until just combined.

  5. Pour into prepared loaf tin. If desired, top with lemon slices and sesame seeds. Bake for 30-minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.

  6. Serve warm or cold and enjoy!
