Pasta with Herb and Cheese Sauce is a quick and easy dinner that uses any left over pasta. Very easy to make many variations and keep fussy family members happy.

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

  2. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a medium saucepan over moderate heat, add the flour and stir to make a roux (a roux is butter and flour cooked together).

  3. Slowly add milk and keep whisking until it becomes a smooth sauce.

  4. Bring the sauce to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer until the sauce thickens.

  5. Add basil and 2 tablespoons of parsley and salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Slowly stir in ¾ of the cheese.

  7. Grease the bottom of casserole dish with the remaining butter.

  8. Add the pasta and top with meat of your choice.

  9. Pour the sauce over the pasta, making sure it completely covers the pasta.

  10. Top with the remaining cheese, cover and bake for 10 minutes.

  11. Remove cover and cook for another 5 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown.

  12. Pasta with Herb and Cheese Sauce is not suitable to be frozen.

  13. You can add any meats that suit your family tastes. Meatballs, sausages, ham or seafood
