Ingredients

  • 1 Chicken 1.5 kg
  • 2 Large Sage Leaves
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 g Salt And Pepper
  • Sage Stuffing
  • 1 1/2 cups Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Cup Sage Leaves, Chopped
  • 1 Brown Onion, Finely Diced
  • 2 tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1/16 cups Olive Oil

Sage Stuffed Roasted Chicken

Roast Chicken, it never really fails. It can be as simple or as fancy as you like. Everyone loves Chicken! Stuffed chicken is amazing! Not only do you get to eat the delicious stuffing but the flavours go right through the chicken making it even more delicious!

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees

  2. Place the stuffing into the cavity of the chicken

  3. Using fingers, fake space between skin and breast

  4. Place 1 tbsp of butter into each side of the breast, pressing it down and placing 1 sage leaf in there too

  5. Drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper

  6. Roast for approximately 1.5 hours until golden and juice runs clear

  7. Heat a fry pan and add olive oil, add the onion and garlic and cook until it is soft and stir occasionally

  8. Meanwhile, add all of the other ingredients to a bowl

  9. Once the onion and garlic is cooked, let it cool slightly

  10. Add to the other ingredients and combine well

Sage and roast chicken taste amazing together! these flavours work together so well, serve with a fresh summer salad sprinkled with sage or with hot roasted potatoes and gravy! another family favorite!
