  • 1 kg Beef tenderloin or steak part
  • 1/4 cups Cornflour
  • 2 tsp Ginger grated
  • 4 Garlic chopped or crushed
  • 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cups Soy Sauce
  • 3 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 2 tbsp Chilli flakes or cayenne pepper ***do not add if you don't want it spicy
  • 1 Shallots to garnish

You’ll find yourself eating too much rice with this Sizzling Slow Cooker Mongolian Beef! Even the sauce is delectable!

Method

  1. Cut beef across the grain into 1cm slices and coat in cornflour. Then, add it to the slow cooker bowl.

  2. In a jug or similar container, mix together ginger, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, oyster sauce, and chilli (optional, remove if you do not want spicy), then add oil.

  3. Cook on high for 4 hours, stirring once after one hour, and again on the 3-hour mark.

  4. Leave some of the chilli to garnish if you prefer. Or you can add the chilli on the 3 hours and 30 minutes mark.

  5. Serve on top of hot or warm rice then garnish with shallots. Perfect for lunch boxes!

  6. If you want to add veggies to this, add chopped carrots (optional) on the 3-hour mark.
