When was the last time you really enjoyed a meal from a packet? Never I’m guessing. When you sit down and really consider the food we eat – especially the fast food – it really isn’t very good and certainly not ‘enjoyable’. When you compare say a burger from McDonalds to a burger made at home, there is no comparison. At home salads are fresher, the meat pattie is tasty and filling, the bread is toasted just right and it was made with care and love as opposed to an assembly line. Not to mention the amount of chemicals and salt in the processed foods.
Simple ingredients made with love win every time. Most fussy eaters (take any typical two year old) like very basic food; pasta, cheese, bread etc. You don’t have to cook fancy to cook well. Porridge for breakfast is simple, delicious, fast (only takes 4 minutes in the microwave), and tremendously good for you. Lunches of crusty wholemeal bread and cheese, dinners of barbecued meat and salads with a baked potato – yummo!
Life is so busy now but by simplifying what you eat is a good start in the right direction, and you’ll feel better for it. Spend less on the fancy foods and just buy the basics and be creative. You’ll have more money in your pocket and be less stressed!
