Britax Affinity Stroller Review

Having recently had my fourth child, I thought I had seen it all in prams and strollers. Subsequently, we boasted four (yes four!) of them for just one small infant. But she hated them; all of them! When I picked her up to go into the pram, she would wimper, when I popped her in she would scream and arch her back in protest. Her little hands would smack me as I attempted to do up the belt straps and people would stare in horror as I walked the streets and through the shops with a purple-faced, extremely stubborn, screaming baby. I thought my days of walking my little girl in a pram were over, I was destined to carry her everywhere, building up the muscles in my right arm like a lopsided body builder.

But then the Britax Affinity Stroller was delivered. At first I thought I would leave it for my husband to put together, as past experience has taught me that assembling prams can be as involved as flat pack furniture. But curiosity got the better of me and I opened the box. I was surprised to see minimal small parts and no excessive packaging materials, the instructions were clear and assembly took me under 15 minutes! It was simply a matter of clicking in the pieces and the stroller was assembled!

I had chosen a colour pack to go with the stroller, and seeing as I love purple, the Cool Berry accessories were perfect! The hood attaches with zips that aren’t tight or stiff so attaching it was simple, and the foot rest simply clips over the handlebars with a press stud. The seat insert slips into the seat itself and the strap padding actually secures to the straps with press studs to avoid them slipping.

The Britax Affinty Stroller boasted so many features, it’s hard to name my favourite, but I especially like the way the straps connect in five separate pieces (over-the-shoulder, around the waist and up through the legs). This means you don’t have to wrestle a babies arms through straps to get them out, they simply disconnect from the central lock and open right up. A godsend when your baby is asleep or covered in something sticky, messy or chocolate-y!

In addition to this feature the Britax Affinity Stroller also boasts:

  • A fully reversible seat with multi-position recline
  • Height adjustable handle bars
  • A spacious basket
  • Lockable swivel front wheels
  • Adjustable rear suspension and air-filled rear wheels (I didn’t think this would make a difference but it makes the ride so much smoother!)
  • Easy to fold and extremely lightweight chassis
  • Optional colour packs available in Blue Sky, Cool Berry, Fossil Brown, Chilli Pepper and Black Thunder.
  • Environmentally responsible packaging and simple-to-follow instructions
  • Suitable from birth to approximately three years (up to 17 kg)

But the very best thing about the Britax Affinity Stroller? My little girl LOVES it! She had a smile from the minute I popped her in it and has enjoyed every outing in it since. Happy baby means happy Mummy so this stroller is a definite winner for me!
