A mother has shared how she had her FIRST orgasm when she gave birth to her THIRD son in a one-of-a-kind orgasmic childbirth.

Debra Wakefield, 54, from Bendigo, Victoria, told Daily Mail Australia she never expected that of all the moments she could experience orgasm, which normally happens during sex, it was when she gave birth to her third son.

“It was this whole body rush, this intense feeling of pleasure that came over me during the birth.

“I thought ‘oh my goodness, what was that?’

“It was just so beautiful. It was exquisitely intense pleasure – something I did not understand. Something I had never expected,” she said.

Ms Wakefield, who is a midwife and certified hypnobirthing practitioner at Empowered to Birth, said that she had her first sexual encounter at the age of 19 and became pregnant after that. She was pregnant for the third time at 34. “At 34 I was not hugely sexually experienced. I had not experienced an orgasm having sex,” she said.

Now, through her own hypnobirthing service, Ms Wakefield said she is giving parents-to-be the tools to approach their birth ‘without fear and with knowledge’. She said she wants to show them that birthing can be a positive and empowering experience.

She said that endorphins are ‘more powerful’ than morphine and through hypnobirthing she is helping women discover ways their bodies can ‘naturally create them’.
