Mum’s Heartwarming Letter to Her Daughter’s Stepmother Goes Viral

A mother has shared a heartfelt letter thanking her daughter’s stepmother that has touched thousands of hearts.

Mum, Audrey Nicole from Newport News, Virginia in the US, is far from hating her ex-husband’s new girlfriend as she writes a heartwarming letter, appreciating everything the new woman in her ex-husband’s life does for her daughter, Riley, whenever she visits, treating her daughter like her own child.

Audrey was so thankful that she took it to Facebook to express her gratitude in a heartfelt letter that has since gone viral.

Earlier this month, Audrey wrote the ode to Whitney Mcgraw, uploading a photo of Whitney striking a goofy pose with Riley by her side. She wrote:

“This is my daughter’s father’s girlfriend. The sweetest thing ever!

“I’m super thankful for her because when [Riley] visits her dad [Whitney] feeds her, takes care of her, buys her gifts, and basically takes care of her like her own.”

Audrey then urged other women to get along with their kids’ stepmum “” not just for the sake of their kids, but for their own happiness.

“Why do all these moms act so spiteful and jealous towards the other women?

“NO ONE said it was easy trying to be a mother to a kid you didn’t have. So when there is someone trying, don’t push them away! Because they DON’T need the drama they WILL leave and then you’re stuck with someone who is the evil step-mom. Yes they exist! I see them everywhere!

“A kid can have two moms. because in my eyes. the more people that love her. I’m happy! I would never make her feel like an outsider; I’m extremely thankful for this girl,” she added with a string of hearts.

Audrey ended her post with a heartwarming piece of advice.

“Ladies, grow up and focus on being a good mom … Love more hate less!”

Her post has now earned more than 359,000 reactions and over 146,000 shares and was picked up by the popular Love What Matters Facebook page, where it has garnered even more shares, and comments praising both women. One commenter said: “It’s amazing to see humans come together for this beautiful child and put her as the number 1 priority,” and another one said: “Agreed, agreed, agreed!! More love is just more love. Sharing doesn’t decrease the quantity, it increases the volume. The parents will always co-parent, and hopefully choose next partners who feel secure and loving.”
