Covid Has Given Mums a HUGE Advantage to Work at Home

Now that we are still amid a pandemic – many businesses, large and small have been forced to allow their employees to work from home.  This means a fantastic opportunity for you, right now – as businesses are realising that they don’t need to pay for huge overheads such as offices, air-conditioning and desks when their workforce can work at home.  In the past finding opportunities for jobs that could be done at home were few and far between.  So take advantage of COVID as more and more companies are hiring remote work employees!

But first, are work from home legit?

Many, when they hear about working from home, they twist their mouths thinking about something not serious, or about a scam that will not bring in real earnings. However, today there are various ways you can work from home and make real cash, especially online. You must take into account that working from home is a job like any other, with the difference that it takes place from home. The only requirement is specific knowledge of the type of job you are doing.

Unfortunately, there are a few parties that take advantage of this opportunity to commit fraud or scams. To help you find a legitimate work from home job, you should:

1.  Research the company/person you are potentially working for

Some work-at-home jobs or remote work offers are not published by legitimate companies. Instead, you’ll be surprised that some job offers are published by companies/individuals who want to take advantage of you. Therefore, it is important that you do thorough research before applying. You can find the information about a company on rating sites or job boards where job seekers at home share information with each other. At least, you will want to know the number of years the company has been in operation, and also its reputation.

If a company has no reviews or information about it, do a quick Google search. If they don’t have a presence on the Internet and you can’t find anything about it, they are likely not to be a legitimate employer.

So I highly recommend you:

  • Google the Company and check out their website, do they have an address and phone number listed?
  • Check out their Facebook Page, are there nasty reviews?  Do they have a following?
  • Google the name of the company and ‘Reviews’. What do people say about them?
  • Have a look at Linkedin at their page and employees to ensure they are a real company.

2. Think twice before shelling out money

Most experts agree that you should never, ever pay to apply for or accept a job. If a work at home job requires you to pay a fee in advance to start working, this is an immediate red flag. Therefore, don’t pay to work. Work to get paid.

3. Ask for a reference

Do you know anyone who has worked for the company that is offering you a job? If yes, what’s their experience with the company? If No, request the company to provide references. If they are unwilling, then this is not a good sign.

Since your goal is to find a legitimate work-at-home offer, keep looking until you find one that is completely real and that you feel good about it. There are many companies hiring. You just have to be patient and be on the lookout for opportunities
