Is Hypnotherapy The Solution to Menopause Symptoms?

4 min read

After doing rounds and rounds of IVF, after giving birth twice in twelve months, after bleeding for nine years then having a full hysterectomy – now I’m going through Menopause. It freaking sucks.

But I’m not alone, by 2025, there will be over 1 billion women experiencing menopause in the world, which is 12% of the entire world population of 8 billion. That’s a lot of cranky women! Grrrrrrrrr!

Do You Have These Menopausal Symptoms?

Most of us know that the common symptoms of menopause include hot flushes and night sweats. But did you know about these other symptoms?

Changes in Usual Menstrual CycleMenstrual FloodingHeadaches or Migraines
Brain Fog or ClumsinessLethargy and ExhaustionInsomnia or Sleep Disturbances
Muscle CrampsLow BackacheUrinary Issues (Frequent or Incontinence)
Food Cravings and Appetite ChangesMuscle and Joint PainDark Circles Under the Eyes
Hair ThinningAdult AcneReduction in Breast Tissue
Sore BreastsLoss of Sex DrivePainful Sex (Due to Vaginal Dryness)
Ringing in the EarsDizzinessWeight Gain

These symptoms, along with other conditions, can lead to a significant reduction in a woman’s quality of life, increased utilization of medical resources and an overall loss of productivity. The menopause market has historically been quite under-resourced – there aren’t many options available for women to manage their symptoms.

Traditional treatments for Menopause include hormone replacement therapy (HRT), however many women can’t or don’t want to use HRT.

But There is a New Treatment Now Available

Hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy is safe, natural and has been shown to be extremely effective. Hypnotherapy can also be used in conjunction with treatments like HRT.

Clinical trials have shown hypnotherapy can reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes by around 70-80% – along with secondary benefits like improving the quality of sleep and anxiety

Hypnotherapy is recommended for managing menopausal symptoms by both The North American Menopause Society and Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RANZCOG)

You’ll be guided to focus on cooling images and suggestions on how to regulate temperature – training your mind to better reduce the severity and frequency of hot flashes.

About the Evia Program:

With an innovative app program developed by world-leading neuroscientist and menopause researcher Dr. Gary Elkins, Evia helps you learn how to calm the body’s stress response and self-manage hot flashes with evidence-based hypnotherapy.

During a session, you’ll be taken through relaxation exercises, and while your body relaxes, your mind will retain a focused state of attention. When you’re in this state you’ll listen to cooling visualizations and suggestions about how your body will be able to manage hot flashes, and how they will bother you less, and less.

Not only do the sessions give your body time to relax, and feel cool, but also help you to adjust how your brain reacts to normal temperatures.

With Evia, it’s easier than ever for you to manage menopause and hot flashes at home — without the need for medications, supplements, or diet changes.
