Ingredients

  • 1 cup Flour (Plain)
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Butter melted
  • 5 Cups Milk

Method

  1. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
  2. Make a well in the centre and add the egg, milk and melted butter.
  3. Using a wooden spoon, gradually draw in the flour.  Beat well, cover and stand in the fridge for one hour.
  4. Pour batter into a jug, heat the frypan and grease well with the canola oil spray.
  5. Pour batter into frypan, try to get a saucer size pancake for easy flipping.
  6.  Cook until bubbles appear on top, flip and cook for a further minute.
  7. Serve with syrup, or lemon and sugar, or bacon and maple syrup!

Recipe Hints and Tips:

  • Basic Pancakes from Scratch can be frozen for up to two weeks. Allow to cool, then stack pancakes between sheets of baking paper and place in an airtight container.
  • You can also add blueberries or other flavours for the "grown up kids."
