Chocolate Chickpea Slice

Chocolate Chickpea Slice

This Chocolate Chickpea Slice probably sounds a bit weird, but it is soooo delicious! It is high in protein (thanks to the chickpeas) so a tiny piece goes a long way to filling you up.

It can be adjusted to be sweeter or more bitter, according to taste, simply by modifying the honey and cocoa (more honey or less cocoa=sweeter, more cocoa or less honey=bitter)

We served the Chocolate Chickpea Slice with a drizzle of white chocolate on top!

Made this today. Yummy! I did substitute walnuts for the pecan though.

I’m allergic to nuts, is there something you can recommend I substitute for them?

for school lunches you would need to leave out the nuts I’d put in quinoa, sunflower or pumpkin seeds maybe or even dried chickpeas if they are not too hard.
