  • 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Castor Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Oats
  • 100 g Chocolate Chips Or Sultanas
  • Extra Ingredients Required to Make Cookies
  • 125 g Butter melted
  • 1 Egg lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Cookie Mix in a Jar

Cookie Mix in a Jar is a great gift for the avid baker!  Just attach a little tag with string on how to finish them off – best of all – it’s cheap to make!  Start stashing your jars now!

It’s the perfect gift for teachers, workmates, friends and food lovers.

Method

  1. Sift the flour, baking powder, bicarb and salt into a bowl.

  2. Mix well with a whisk and spoon mixture into a 650ml capacity jar.

  3. Carefully spoon on top the brown sugar, then the caster sugar, then the oats - lastly the chocolate chips/sultanas.

  4. Seal the jar and decorate as desired.

  5. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

  6. Line two baking trays with baking paper.

  7. Empty the jar into a bowl and stir in the butter, egg and vanilla.

  8. Stir until combined - make tablespoon sized balls and place on the baking trays.

  9. Bake for 12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

  10. Cool on a wire rack.
