They are delicious, nutty, fruity, and chocolatey – you wouldn’t ask for anything more! This recipe is quick, will only take you less than half an hour to make. And if you follow our method, you’ll be able to make 24 Florentine biscuits in a short amount of time. This recipe for Florentines really is as easy as the title says!

But I advise you to double or triple the ingredients – 24 wouldn’t be enough because everyone will definitely be asking for more! Yum!

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients except chocolate in mixing bowl. Mix well.

  2. Grease flat baking trays, line lightly with cornflour.

  3. Shake trays to remove any excess cornflour.

  4. Place dessertspoon full of mixture in small heaps on trays.

  5. Bake in moderately slow oven (160 - 180C) for 15 - 20 minutes.

  6. Leave on trays to cool before lifting off carefully with spatula.

  7. Melt chopped chocolate over hot water, remove from heat, and stir until thickened slightly.

  8. Spread chocolate over flat side of biscuit, mark with fork.

Recipe Hints and Tips:

  • Easy Florentines are suitable to freeze for up to two months.
  • Let the chocolate set before storing in an airtight container.
