If you are like me you will love a good steak but it has to be cooked right…..that’s the tricky part. I can never get my steak just right unless I use the BBQ. This will get you cooking your steak perfectly every time!
Method

Place your steak on a plate and pour olive oil over the steak then season with salt and pepper. Let the steak rest before cooking for as long as you can 30 minutes minimum. If leaving overnight be sure to refrigerate, though you can leave uncovered in the fridge as this creates a 'skin' on the steak which locks in the flavours and believe it or not keeps the steak moist.

The ideal way to cook then is to remove from the fridge for around 30 minutes to take the chill off the steak before cooking.

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a heavy-based frypan to high heat. The pan needs to be as hot as you can get.

Now place steak in the frying pan, you may want a splatter shield if you have one. Turn your steak every 20 seconds, yep every 20 seconds. This locks in the flavour of the steak as you are continuously turning not allowing the juices to escape!

Rare will take approximately 5 minutes
Medium Rare approximately 6-8 minutes
Medium approximately 9-10 minutes
Well Done approximately 12-13 minutes
