  • 2 cups Broccoli Florets
  • 1/3 cup Soy Sauce reduced sodium if you can get it
  • 2/3 cup Beef Broth
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 2 tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar heaped
  • 3 Garlic Cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger minced
  • 1 tbsp Peanut Oil can sub olive oil
  • 1 Brown Onion
  • 500 g Flank Steak sliced thin across grain

Quick 'n' Easy Beef And Broccoli | Stay At Home Mum

Method

  1. In a medium bowl put the soy sauce, beef stock, brown sugar, honey, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, cornstarch and 1/4 cup of water. Whisk until well combined, then set aside.

  2. Heat peanut oil in a large skillet over medium/high heat. When hot, add the onion and garlic, stir frying for a few minutes until fragrant. Then add the steak and cook, flipping once, until browned on both sides. This should take about 3-4 minutes, depending on steak thickness.

  3. Add broccoli and stir for a minute or two, then pour over the sauce. Stir until the broccoli is tender and the sauce has thickened slightly.

  4. Serve immediately. We recommend on white rice.
