Let’s just say we could NOT step away from the testing plate….drool!

Method

  1. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Mix butter and garlic together to make paste.

  3. Generously butter both sides of each slice of bread.

  4. Pour lightly beaten eggs in square container big enough that bread slices will fit.

  5. Heat frypan over medium to high heat.

  6. Place bread in egg one at a time then fry until lightly golden brown on each side (about 2-3 minutes).

  7. Place bread on baking tray, repeat until all slices done.

  8. Sprinkle golden brown toast with Parmesan cheese until well coated.

  9. Place under grill for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted.

  10. Serve immediately preferably with no one to share with as you won't be able to stop at one slice!

  11. Parmesan Toast is only suitable for freezing after you have butter both sides as a preparation for using up leftover thick sliced bread.

  12. Parmesan Toast is best served immediately and not stored.
