Ingredients

Corned Beef

  • 1.5 kg Corned Beef or silverside

Brown Sugar Corned Beef

  • 1.5 kg Corned Beef or silverside
  • 1/2 cup Brown Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon Sticks optional

Ginger Ale Corned Beef

  • 1.5 kg Corned Beef
  • 1 Onion
  • 1250 ml Ginger Ale
  • 2 Garlic Cloves

Method

Corned Beef:

  1. Remove the meat from the packet and wash well under a running tap.
  2. Place the washed meat in the slow cooker.
  3. Using a jug, fill the slow cooker with water until the meat is just covered.
  4. Cook on high for four hours or low for 8 hours.

Brown Sugar Corned Beef:

  1. Placed the washed corned beef in the slow cooker and 3/4 fill with water.
  2. Add the brown vinegar and sprinkle the brown sugar on top.
  3. Place the cinnamon stick in the water.
  4. Cook on high for four hours or low for 8 hours.

Ginger Ale Corned Beef:

  1. Placed the washed corned beef in the slow cooker and pour over the ginger ale.
  2. Add the quartered onions and the cloves and cook for four hours on high or eight hours on low.

Notes

Recipe Hints and Tips:

  • Slow Cooker Corned Beef is suitable to freeze for up to three months.
  • Place in a Glad ziplock bag and push out as much air as possible before placing in the freezer.
