After you’ve dropped off your kids at school, then it’s time to take others to work or home or wherever. All you need is your car and your smartphone and off you go! You can also set the hours that are convenient for you.
To be an Uber Driver – there are a few requirements – here are just a few:
- You must be aged 21 or over
- Hold a full valid driver’s license in the State or Territory you are operating in.
- Be listed as the insured driver for the vehicle you will be driving.

2. Website or Content Writer
Working freelance is great for mums who want flexible working hours and most likely, you can get these types of jobs online. If you’re able to write good stories, would like to work from home and wants flexible working hours, then this job is for you.

3. School or Daycare Office Administrator
Better yet, you work at a school while waiting for your kids at school.
You can work as a school or daycare office administrator. This way, you’ll know about your kids’ development or whereabouts too. Ask at your child’s school so they keep you in mind when a position becomes available.
4. Grab Small Jobs on Airtasker
Airtasker advertises small jobs that need doing by busy people who don’t have the time to do them. Do deliveries, bake a cake, edit an article or test a website. It can be very lucrative if you are consistent!

Being a swimming instructor, you can choose to work at a specific time of the day (in your case, during school hours) so you can take care of your kids when they get home. Or you may want to be a swimming instructor at your kid’s school.
6. Teacher’s Aide
If you don’t have the credentials of being a classroom teacher, you can work in different support positions in your kid’s school such as being a teacher’s aide. What’s good about this job is that when your kids are on break for the summer, you are too, so there’s no need for childcare services, and you get to bond with your kids!
7. Online Seller
This is probably one of the most common jobs that SAHMs or WAHMs take. Being an online seller means you are in control of your time where you can work at your own pace. 8. Social Media Manager
If you’re a tech-savvy and are really good at social media, try managing social media accounts. Some businesses hire social media managers to promote their businesses through Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms. This is quite a flexible job which is perfect for a SAHM.
9. Offer In-Home Daycare
You can try offering in-home daycare when your kids are at school. While this is a great opportunity for mums to earn at home, you need to get proper licence especially when you’re catering to more than one family.
10. Spray Tan Operator
If you rock at giving yourself a great tan at home, why not become a mobile tanning salon? You can work your own hours and equipment isn’t expensive to buy up front. You can charge from $20 – $50 per tan depending on your location and skillset.
11. Write Ebooks and Sell Them Online
Ebooks have been big in the United States for years, but they are gaining popularity in Australia now – and they sell really well providing you write about a niche topic. An Ebook isn’t a full-blown book or novel – it is a bite-sized snackable book that is straight to the point. Think about 30 pages maximum.

12. Start an Online Store Using Drop Shipping (Meaning You Don’t Need Stock!)
So the problem with starting an online store for Mums is that stock is prohibitively expensive. Not only does it cost a fortune, but you also need somewhere to actually put it. But – drop shipping is a method of having an online shop without stock. Sure – you are still selling a product, but you are shipping that product from the original supplier – straight to the customer – and you take the profit.
Yes it is legal. Totally legal. Sure it can be fiddly – but if you do your homework and find a great supplier with fantastic products and attend to customer service, you can have a very successful online store that you only need to work during school hours.

13. Become an Online Influencer
If you are very savvy online, why not consider becoming a blogger or vlogger. All you need is a social media following – and then you can start applying for all the influencer jobs that are advertised all the time!
If you are passionate about a topic – you can become an influencer in that particular niche. Other Influencer type work includes:

- Instagrammers
- Vloggers and Bloggers
- Brand Ambassadors
This is a great job to go into for Mums as you can go at your own pace and spend as little or as much time on ‘influencing’ as you like!

If your cakes are the talk of the town, strangers beg you for your recipe for your stroganoff, or have a cheesecake that your Mother would sell you for, then consider becoming a Small Batch Gourmet Food Creator! To do this, make your award-winning dish and take samples to local cafes and restaurants to show them what you’ve got!
