I posted this in a different thread but;

-They have a walk-up no appointment needed Coronavirus testing clinic running 9am - 8pm. Just follow the signs with arrows saying 'fever clinic'

Be soooo much easier for the general public if they had signs saying 'Coronavirus testing' this way! Instead of 'fever clinic', no-one knows what a fever clinic is, I had to ask where to go

Wrong! Amazed at all this incorrect info about WA. We need a better infomation campaign over here, as so many west aussies seem to be paying for something they can get free!

Do you know the info? Where can ppl get it for free in WA?

REPLY
You know, I never really thought about it before now, only ever lived in VIC, but I thought what I could get/do here would be the same across the nation. I mean it is the one country. I thought like flu shots, councils, hospital those kind of services would be the same

REPLY

^it should be the same. Just like a standard wage for a standard job ie, nurses, school teachers, security guards - all those kind of job where you need a qualification and make it nation wide pay rate. I know nurses get paid differently in each state and their union is fighting for the lowest state to get a raise and make it even

Not wrong. I’m in WA and after seeing this have rung doctors surgeries and chemists and they all said no free ones. I’m thinking the people getting free ones hold healthcare cards.

REPLY

You can’t get it for free in WA unless your aged up to 12, over 65 or sick/vulnerable. Hospitals do not give free flu shots.

I will be roasted for this, but may help someone who is broke, go to any doctors surgery, not your regular one, and say ‘im asthmatic, need my flu vac’ they will give it to you free and just say ‘how are you managing your asthma’ reply with ‘pretty good, been dorment a while, i just carry a ventiliion just in case’

REPLY

^no not roasted, helpful, a lot of ppl can't afford much atm

So you’re saying lie? If you’re new to a surgery you have to fill out a new patient form. It will ask “ are you asthmatic “. If you say yes, they will do a check up on you at your first appointment and ask you all about your asthma and what medication you take. You have to sign the patient form saying it’s true. You can get into trouble for lying. They can even see if you’re on the my health register and check against that. It’s how they catch out ‘doctor shoppers.’ The flu shot is around $15. Just pay it.

^ I agree. $15 for a jab is worth not being labelled a criminal. You're falsifying legal information. Ok maybe criminal is a bit harsh but they'll probably put a note on your medical file

REPLY
A lot of good people can't afford $15 for the family, wife, hubby and 3 kids = $75. yes I know it's better than getting sick, just saying. that's why a lot of public hospitals give it out free

ANSWER

It's great they have a separate clinic for Coronavirus testing. Stops clogging up emergency that way. Of course if you are unwell and go to the fever clinic, they will refer you to emergency.

Free in WA this year for all primary school children, babies up to age 5, elderly, pregnant people, asthmatics or other illness. Some doctors surgeries do free flu vac for medicare card holders, ive mentioned this else where, but my kids and i (aged from 4-16) get it every year and have never paid for it.

Nope. Only free in WA if elderly, very young, or vulnerable ( sickness ). I paid $20 each for myself and kids aged 11, 14, 17. They are done at GPs, community clinics or pharmacies. I’m happy to pay that, just surprised other states are getting it for free.
