Here's the thing... everyone reacts to birth control differently. What one person hates another loves. I had the Nexplanon for the full 3 years, and had a fairly positive experience. My periods were light at first, then went away all together. That being said, it did give me severe anxiety and moodiness. After the arm implant expired, I decided to try an IUD, and LOVE it. However, again, everyone is different. My best friend had the same IUD and had it removed after a few months because she hated it. You can always try it, and if it's not working for you, get it removed. Good luck!!

I started out with the minipill at the same time for 2 or 3 months so I wasn't irregularly bleeding. I have not had a period whilst having implanon and had had many implanons overs the years. I love it.

I had it taken out within a month because it messed my mood around so much! It made me so irrationally upset and angry all the time, it was the worst experience of my life.

I know a couple of other women who have had similar experiences with it and had it taken out very quickly, but I also know other women who have had no problems with it all so I think it just comes down to your own body and what it can handle etc.
