10. There's an ad on the radio that says children younger than10 need to hold an adults hand when crossing

I’ve never heard of that. Pfft. How many ten year old boys would hold mummy’s hand as they cross the road to school.

Yep I think of that too when I hear it! Especially since my 10 year old has walked or ridden to school since he was 7!!! But I only heard the ad maybe a month ago or so

My son held my hand walking down the street when he was 10. But we were on holidays overseas and he said he’s only doing it because no one knew him there! Cheeky bugger.

Most of the kids in my kids primary school walk to school. Some with parents, most without. They are 12 years and younger. Nothing has ever been said about it so I don’t think there’s an age limit. I’m in Perth.

I'm pretty sure it's not. Qld is the only state to specify an age, distance, familiarity, maturity play factors. Said kid walking to school at 8am as opposed to waking around at 6am... Kid having regularly done the trip as opposed to having a sketched map in hand to new house(true situation which prompted police letter in Qld which has 12year detail and is now quoted inaccurate to most situations)
