I like watching “ I am a killer”. Individual episodes about killers put to death and their background stories. Quite sad at times.

I have watched a few episodes - some stories are so distressing - many of the killers are also victims of shocking childhood abuse (not to excuse their crimes)
It’s worth a look OP.

I have a pen pal who is on there. Chuck Thompson. Interesting case. I watched and actually researched and then reached out and have been writing to him on death row for a year now.

I remember that episode. Why do you feel sorry for him? Was it because he also got punished for killing the girl even though it was due to medical fault? He still killed the other guy and he had a violent history. Isn’t it interesting and sad, that every one of the killers suffered terrible abuse as children.

I never said I felt sorry for him at all. I have reviewed the case and spoken with him in depth about that night. It is incredible to see the difference in people once they are mentally stable and not Addicted to drugs and alcohol.

I just escaped DV also and he actually was the one who has been my greatest support and convincer to be safe for me and my children. There is a lot more to the story I would say go listen to his new podcast available on the Facebook page ”friends of Charles victor Thompson” and listen

Do you give any thought to the person he killed or the women he bashed. How could you as a survivor have anything to do with someone like that. He’s only changed because he’s locked up. Seems odd that you escaped that but feel so connected to someone who also hurt women.

Read into the case in more depth. Their is blame on both sides it’s unfortunate how it ended. I enjoy learning and am doing a law degree so spending time also interviewing him as part of my degree has been amazing for my assignments. I don’t allow domestic violence to control my life. You can’t be a victim forever.

I posted this comment. We are binge watching it at the moment half way through S2. We were saying this morning that the next thing we will binge is the Mexican cartels so that’s good the other seasons head that way, thanks! Did you enjoy watching it?

^ Sorry, S3 is about the Cali cartels. Yes, if you enjoyed the original narcos, narcos Mexico is definitely worth watching

True life for sure. Grew up in a funeral home so love to them research and look into more. Great thing with American crime is all the case files are available online. Autopsy reports and all it’s a great read and time killer.
