Yes I bought a washing machine and it was broken. I checked at sellers house and it worked, but once it was home it didn't work properly. I contacted the seller and was told it was my problem. I think it was deliberately sold broken. There was nothing I could do, so I cut the power cord off and took it back and left it behind her car. I certainly learnt not to buy anything on gumtree, and I hope the seller learnt not to scam people, the ding I accidentally put in the back of her car when I dropped the washing machine into it would have cost more than the $50 she got from me.

You can always try contacting the seller but unfortunately it’s one of those things you do risk when buying off gumtree

Contact the seller, they may be reasonable about it... did you pay thru PayPal? If so might be covered there too..
