SO many people are missing the point here. Part of teaching children about consent is modelling it. If we want our children to be respectful to their friends, partners, anyone, teach them about consent. Model it from an early age. And if they say no then respect it. It’s not just about a photo online it’s about body awareness, that they control their bodies, that if they don’t give consent then it should be respected. What starts as ‘can I take your photos’ leads to strong values and confidence to protect themselves and respect others.

I don't ask because they don't understand the ramifications

I just don't do it.

I wish every parent had some respect for their children's privacy.

Once a photo is in cyberspace, there's no going back.

I ask my children if it is ok to post their pictures. They never say no. My rule is if I wouldn’t want a that picture online if it was me neither will my children when they are older.
