New neighbours playing music late WA

Answered 3 years ago

Can anyone help me , I’ve been looking online for the answer and it seems to vary between 10pm and 7pm/8pm, earlier on Sunday.

Our street has been really peaceful and friendly until the new guys moved and it’s affecting sleep. We can hear them chatting past midnight, playing music last 7/8;10om and it is bothering our sleep. I would like to speak something, but I just can’t find information. Any ideas, or suggestions on this situation before the inevitable chat? I personally care about neighbours but these guys seem really self centred and it’s really frustrating

It’s not true that there’s time limits. If their music is genuinely affecting you, you can put in a complaint to council and they’ll have a chat to your neighbour keeping it anonymous. I’ve been through this. My neighbour blasted his music from 9am until midnight every day. So loud that my friend 5 doors up could hear it over her tv. It affected my kids studies and sleep. Our windows would rattle. We couldn’t watch tv and our stress levels were through the roof. The neighbour tried to say that the music is off at midnight so he’s doing nothing wrong, but council explained the noise is excessive and affecting neighbours in the area quality of life and he had to turn it down. He had three warnings before he stopped doing it tho. All good now.
