How stupid are some mums ?

Answered 4 years ago

A mother has been left devastated after her young son died from the flu after an anti-vaccine Facebook group urged her to use 'natural remedies' rather than medicine.

Najee, four, had been suffering from flu-like symptoms when his mother gave him a bath on Sunday and sent him to put on his pyjamas.

Moments later, one of her other three children told her Najee was "asleep" and she rushed to his room to find the four-year-old lying on the floor, pale and unresponsive.

I read that 2 of her other children are showing the same flu symptoms. Rather than seek medical advice, the idiot went back on the anti-vaxx group to ask for advice.

I get the flu vaccine every year because I am on immunosuppressants. My daughter also has it as she was a premmie and has had alot of respiratory problems over the years. My husband on the other hand had it once and got so sick. Needless to say he will never have it again. It's a tough call, whether or not to flu vaccinate and I think every person is different. This poor woman didn't set out to kill her child. She probably did what she thought was right. It's just so sad

Please don’t judge this mum, she did what she thought was best at the time for her son. Everyone has their own opinions about vaccines.

I have to agree. I am pro vaccine.. but not a flu vaccine person. I dont read the news so I don’t know what any of you are really talking about. I actually reckon everyone should get off these news stories, and facebook too. I’m sure there are thousands of stories like this, but honestly, they are irrelevant to everyone here. One person is 25million and she has nothing to do with any of us

I'm a firm believer in getting vaccinations, but not getting the flu vaccine doesn't annoy me as much as not seeking medical attention for what I'm assuming was an obviously sick child.

Regardless of whether you are for or against vaccines, it should be classed as intentionally causing harm if your child dies from a vaccine preventable illness, virus etc if you didn't get them vaccinated. The benefits outweigh whatever risks they believe will happen.

It saddens me that this little boy was effectively killed by the one person who was supposed to keep him safe I do understand however that she thought she was doing exactly that. It's a terrible tragedy 💔
