Do you think kids in public should be seen and not heard ?

Today I had my first day out without my kids and 2 kids were running around laughing and some were yelling

I tell my kids to shoosh in public

Kids are people too. They can make noise and get excited and run around. Yes, it should be appropriate for the setting, but they shouldn't have to silently follow their parents around. If you don't want to deal with other people, don't go out in public.

It depends where you are. If you’re in a park let kids be kids na snake some noise. I don’t tell my kids to shoosh in places like restaurants that are social and talking is a deep table unless they are being loud and rowdy. Kids swearing is never ok though.
My father believed in the kids should be seen and not heard idea and if I made a sound in public I got a belting at home. Hope you’re not that kind of parent.
