Yes. My children choose one meal a week each and who ever chose it has to help cook it. If they choose a salad with dinner they make it themselves after I chop ingredients. If they want a certain type of vegetable they will help prepare it with pealing or putting it in the pot. They add in herbs and spices. It’s all done under my supervision but they know a lot of basic recipes and how to cook meat right because they are by my side.

Yes my son is 11 and helps to majority of cooking under strict supervision. He can cook an entire Thai curry, mac and cheese and many other meals. He desperately wants to be a chef and loves food so I definitely assist and encourage him to learn where I can.

Yes, we meal plan together. My oldest cooks once or twice a week. They all help with preparing salads if I ask.

Not at the moment because they’re all under 5 years old and they’d choose MacDonald’s every night.
But, when I can I try and get them involved in prep work and when they’re at school I’ll certainly involve them more in the menu planning and prep.

Yes they do. I do a weekly meal plan and I always ask for ideas on what they want to eat. They are also responsible for cooking one meal a week.
