Relaxing the Corona restrictions...

Answered 4 years ago

Whenever the possibility of relaxing the Corona vírus isolation /restrictions is mentioned, I have noticed people commenting: “Oh, too early, this is our new normal”, etc etc.
Now... is it ok to crave going back to normality? Are some people actually enjoying being in house arrest?
My husband thinks there are a LOT of people enjoying “working from home” (a couple of zoom meetings throughout the day and Netflix galore in between).

My anxiety is so bad i stand by the sink and just wash my hands all day. Even if I haven’t done anything to need washing. It’s horrible

❤️ I hope you find a way to be ok, maybe call a help line, Beyond Blue or something like that, they may be able to give you some strategies to try to help you walk away from the sink.

If the virus isn’t in your home you don’t need to wash your hands all day long.

Yes we are loving it. We’re on acridge though.
We are in a tight spot financially, but scraping by. We don’t need much but food so that’s covered.
We didn’t get to go on our two overseas trips this year. We used a bit of our savings on forward paying bills for 10 months. So we are squared up till February. We are waiting to have our mortgage frozen and we will just bank all that (two rentals)
But we are loving every minute. We go to the beach for a sunrise swim/surf every morning.
I come home and back fresh bread.
Then we will do some of the 10 projects we’ve needed to do for months. I’ll cook lunch we sit have a yummy lunch. Then play with the kids in the pool or board games colouring whatever.
Then I’ll cool dinner and we’ve had the bonfire (that my husband finally got round to digging and making) pretty much ever night and eating under our new gazebo by the fire as the sun sets.
I’m becoming an alcoholic drinking wine every night though lol.
I’ll be happy to start making money again but we’ve cherished this time as a family.

How can you be scraping buy yet go on TWO overseas holidays a year. I don't get it? You're either generally not great with money or have strange financial priorities

Because of carina virus lol.
We are living on about $100 a week as we aren’t eligible for any payments because of our unique financial set up.
NORMALLY we go over seas 2/3 times a year, this year we won’t go anywhere.

Lol how does it make no sense?
We both have no income, we put all our savings on paying our bills for the whole year. We have about $1000 left in savings which we are choosing not to use.
Our onsite renter is only paying us $100 a week down from $590.
Our other rentals cover those property bills, so when the mortgages are frozen things will get a bit easier. But for now we are in a tight spot.

Also yes spelling isn’t my forte lol. I left school in year 9, do you feel more validated pointing out a spelling mistake? I always wonder why people must correct other adults. Is it an ocd thing where it bothers you to that point? Or is it a superiority thing that something in your self confidence feels better knowing you can spell a word better than someone else? Or are you trying to invalidate someone because your trying to infer they are stupid, ergo their opinion doesn’t count?
What purpose does correcting spelling do?

Ok. Everyone has different money priorities. We COULD travel 2/3 times a year but travel once and save the rest. My DB & SIL took a year long holiday last year and spent everything they have because 'something will turn up'. Some save, some spend. As long as the spenders don't ask the savers for money it's not our business!!

Don't listen to the angry ant. I understood it just fine. Sounds like you've got it all worked out & you'll be just fine. Also I fully agree with the correcting nonsense.

We're enjoying it. We're under tight constraints with money usually, do our best to save save save so this is nothing new for us, if anything it's made saving money easier. Hubby is essentially worker so we're good there.

I really, really want normal back!! I'm going insane!!

But if we relax now, some will take it too far & we'll be back with increasing cases. The herd immunity option is horrifying.

If you've got a job I'd be doing everything to prove worth because there's plenty of people willing to work for cheaper!!
