Are all men / husband messy?

Answered 4 years ago

My husband leaves a trail of disaster wherever he goes. He steps out of the bath and walks across the hall soaking. My kids have already slipped twice. He leaves spilled tea/porridge/smoothies on the counter top and floor! Leaves dirty spoons plates and empty packets on the kitchen table! He ate cereal in the bedroom the other day and just left it there (to grow legs I assume). Our bathroom is as much a disaster, clothes and dirty boxers everywhere! I no longer use our bathroom cause it drives me insane! My teens also started to follow her papas footsteps! He says I’ve got OCD! But to me it’s common sense! Pick up and tidy up after yourself? Are all men / hubbies like this or am I actually going mad 😳!

This seems like a trend. Mine is the same. Leaves dirty clothes in a pile in our bedroom, never cleans, makes more mess. Drives me crazy! I really think they just don’t get it

mine is pretty good, just the little things that bug me. He seems oblivious to dropping crumbs off food because he walks around eating without a plate. I'm forever wiping up coffee off the bench and tiles. But, he'll vacuum, put washing on etc. He does alright compared to some.

Mine never realised he was messy until he left home. Suddenly the breakfast bowls he used of a morning were still right where he left them when he got home of an evening instead of washing themselves and returning to the cupboards and his clothes didn't magicly get washed and put away while he was at work. He honestly had no idea how much his mother use to do for him, he struggled. He was shocked that not all women are raised to wait on men hand and foot (his words). Its been a long road, and it started with him expecting to be waited on and me flat out refusing to do anything, to now making sure we teach our kids different

Mine is not like that, except for when it comes to picking his clothes up.

My husband has no idea also, never picks up after himself. It's soooo annoying. In common spaces I'm all over it, pick that up, don't leave that there, clean the whiskers off the sink after you shave. But there are places where i let him do him - which has taken 10 years of stress to not care anymore. His side of the bedroom, i don't go over there, clothes all over the floor- nope i'm not picking them up & washing them. His bedside table full of junk- not going near it & his desk downstairs - dust, empty food and drink packets. If he wants to like an animal, he can do it in his own spaces. I do reach my limits with these spaces eventually but it's probably once every 6 months but I make him clean it. I'm not his slave and yes he's a man child if I wasn't around he'd turn into a flithy hoarder.

He has a good soul, he loves & accepts me for ALL that I am, i fully trust him and I have amazing internal orgasms, that's all I ever wanted in a man - you take the good with the bad. Nobody's perfect not even you.

My husband does his own washing and ironing, and is the one who washes the towels. Recently he's started picking up the kids toys before bed time too. Neither of us are perfectly tidy, but nothing that drives the other mad.

Mine is, and so are our teenage boys. They won't pull their weight no matter what I do. I either live in squalor or clean up myself, so I have implemented a few things to make my life easier, I use a slow cooker for dinner and have a crap box I put their stuff in and empty into the bin once a week. The best thing I did was drop a day at work so I get some time to myself. Its my f you to my husband.

My husband is neater than me (not that I'm that bad really - just shoes and the odd paperwork not put away, never food or dirty dishes as I think that's gross). He wouldn't let me get away with worse either :)

What does he say if you just leave the mess?
