I think you need be happy with where you are. If your always looking to the future & thinking I'll be happy then you'll never be happy now. You can still set goals but work on being happy now - you only get one shot at life - what happens if those things don't eventuate? You need a fall back plan.

They will end up sad. Even if they do find the love of their life. Goals need to change constantly.

I would say love is always a worthy goal. And it’s nobody else’s place to judge.

I would say the first step to living a fulfilled life would be moving above making decisions based upon the judgements of others. Everyone is so individual, some will judge you, others will agree with you. What is 100% is that you will never be able to please everyone. If you have decided this is what you want in life then pursue it. You can always adapt your plans in the future as you learn more about yourself. People change and flexibility is a good trait.
